Herbs and Supplements

Herbs, supplements, and dietary changes have been used for centuries to treat physical and emotional conditions.

Dietary changesĀ and removal of toxins, particularly heavy metals, are very important in healing emotional and chronic medical conditions.

HerbsĀ are very effective in the treatment of chronic illness and psychiatric conditions. The effect of herbs is usually milder and less toxic to the body. It is usually not one, but multiple biologically active components that are working in conjunction, producing healing effects. Herbs should be cautiously used in combination with medications, always speak with your physician when adding herbs and supplements to a health regimen so that you can create a safe and effective plan of care.

Orthomolecular medicine is a method of treatment based on providing brain cells with an optimal concentration of those substances normally present in the brain, such as nutrients, while removing those substances which do not belong, such as toxins, allergens, and heavy metals. Orthomolecular medicine and psychiatry began in the 1970s with the work of such doctors as Abraham Hoffer, Carl C. Pfeiffer, David R. Hawkins and the Nobelist, Linus Pauling. Even though multiple double blind controlled studies have been published highlighting the benefits of this approach, the field still remains on the outskirts of the western psychiatric paradigm.
